Daniela Fainis
Danuiela Fainis was born 1961 in Dolj, Romania. From 1981 to 1985 she studied at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, department ceramics. In 2004 she was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit in the rank of Commander by the President of Romania. Her remarkable sculptures are exhibited around the world, including Germany, Greece, Japan, USA, Romania or Austria.
She is an established artist who creates poetical, filigree sculptures. In her contemporary ceramic objects she combines sculpture, graphics and painting. She is interested in the physiological process of transformation and growth, from seed germination to efflorescence. All of these stages are made visible, through a single art object, in different variations. Buds emerge from the plant, the inflorescence in all its fragility. The artist makes the fragmentary organic renderings of stylized plants visible. Her herbariums made from China clay, cobalt oxide and colored pigments make you feel the fragility of nature. ⒸA.D.
