The exhibition THE ARTIST IS PRESENT at the FIVE PLUS ART GALLERY explores the journey of discovering art as a fundamental need. The artists invite visitors to take a break and slow down. To block out external distractions and indulge in reflection. They connect themes such as perception, identity, society, and human nature. Each artwork is an extension of themselves, in which the identity of the artist and the artwork merge, resulting in unique and fascinating creations that unfold a certain beauty that we can enjoy.

Bogdan Moleas (1985, “Nicolae Grigorescu” National Academy of Art, Monumental Art, Restoration, Art Education; painter, cartoon designer, teacher, restorer) has had an artistic career spanning more than 40 years. His works contain a personal visual experience in which the contrast between reality and utopia creates a spiritual transcendental dimension. Exhibitions in Holland, Great Britain, New York, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Austria, among others.

Ioan Nemtois (1964, Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts, Glass, Ceramics, Porcelain) glass works are very popular in Europe. His works have been donated by Romania to the Vatican and UNICEF headquarters in New York. Solo exhibition My Extravaganza acquired by McLaren Inc. for their corporate headquarters. Exhibitions in Norway, Sweden, France, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Canada, Belgium,
China, Germany, Austria, among others.

Regina Moritz’s (1971) studies by Markus Lüpertz inspired her to pursue her own artistic path. She has been exhibiting her work since 2002, and in 2004 she changed her color palette to black, white, and countless shades of gray, using squares as the basis for her images. In her work, she breaks through image systems, links them together, and then destroys them again. She has had exhibitions in Belgium, Budapest, Vienna, Graz, and Lower Austria, among other places.

Matthias Lidys (1954, studied under Martha Jungwirth) work is emotional, intuitive, explosive. A warm color palette with bright, vivid colors often recalls his travels to Tenerife. His enduring sculptures are made from everyday metal products of our consumer society: bronze, copper, brass, stainless steel. His works can be found in the Imfeld Collection, Albertina Vienna, among others.

Ion Mandrescu (1954, “Nicolae Grigorescu” National Academy of Art) devoted his entire artistic career to working with bronze. Works from the series Man, Time, Space show that people are not trapped by their fate, but can act independently. The message is to accept the inevitable with courage. He has had exhibitions in Paris, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, and elsewhere.

In his new series New Mankind, Alfred Rece (1969, “Nicolae Grigorescu” National Academy of Art) wants to draw attention to the transformation of humanity. How the situations in which we live, our political systems, our capitalist thinking, our perception of each other and our environment have changed. He combines familiar images from the past with contemporary images and presents a striking contrast between our past and our future. That we preserve what is perhaps our greatest human asset: our empathy.
