Matthias Lidy’s work is dominated by powerful and colorful expressivity, brilliant dynamics and formal radicalism. In Salzburg he found a teacher in the painter Martha Jungwirth, from whose materially subtle works he profited a lot. Also affinities to the painting style of Arnulf Reiner, Josef Mikl and Jürgen Messensee can be found in his works. His paintings are emotional, eruptive and intuitive.
