Eva Meloun has been painting and writing since childhood. She was born in Vienna and grew up in rural Upper Austria; she now lives and works in Vienna. Living with tree generations of artists had a formative influence on her. She has been working as a freelance artist for decades, with numerous exhibitions, projects, and texts to her name. These many years of activity have resulted in a broad spectrum of work. Exhibitions have been held in Sweden, Japan, the USA, Portugal, Slovakia, Hungary, South Korea, and Austria, among other places.

In the exhibition Landschaften und Anderes the FIVE PLUS ART GALLERY is showing selected oil paintings, sculptures, and texts from the artist’s rich oeuvre. Eva Meloun perceives the world around her with sensitive curiosity, enthusiasm, and empathy. Her works deal with profound themes and are an interconnection of art and literature. When viewing her art, we experience her world of thoughts and feelings intensely.

The symbolism of nature – the elements, colors, shapes, sounds and spiritual messages contained in their interplay, which extends into the psychological realm – are themes in her work. Her exploration of landscape and abstract imagery, objects and material images, as well as cyclical works, form the main part of her oeuvre.
