Their powerful imagery is an immediate expression of their individual attitude to life. The exhibition aims to address the viewer’s unconsciousness.

The exhibition begins with the works of Regina Moritz. In her “Pictures from Vienna”, a collage-like combination of painterly and graphic elements, the artist constructs a pictorial language in which the motivic template is perceptible but at the same time appears “intangible”. Ada Muntean explores the grim, sensitive side of things that shape our lives both on a conscious and unconscious level. The artist sets herself apart with the loss of innocence and identity, in a powerful portrait of a society riven by her own ignorance and obsession.

The beautiful engravings by Atena Elena Simionescu draw attention to the fragility of our nature. In his series “Intimate Distances”, the Austrian artist Stefan Nützel deals with the most diverse forms of intimacy and opens up insights into the subliminal, the hidden, the unsaid – a thematic continuum in the artistic oeuvre of the artist. In Constantin Pacea’s expressive and powerful works one recognizes his soul. Ion Mandrescu makes strikingly realistic limb studies into powerful monumental sculptures. These are not classic Bozetto-like pieces, but a really successful work of art. ⒸAlexandra David
