Etching, an original form of printmaking was heavily influenced by Rembrandt in the 17th century. In the beginning of the 19th century the world saw another wave of productivity in printmaking
This process requires a great deal of skill as the image does not exist until its printed. Sometimes the artist has to return repeatedly to work on a piece to ensure their intention is translated to the final artwork.
